Tucker Carlson gives ridiculous theory on US incursion into Venezuela

Former Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson says the US take over of Venezuela is part of a global homosexual plot.

When the USA staged an incursion in Venezuela this week, capturing president Nicolás Maduro and declaring they’d be running the country’s oil industry from now on, political analysts scrambled to explain the Trump administration’s motivation and thinking behind the attack.

International legal experts have described the action as one that breaks international law, and expressed concern that the move will set a dangerous precedent that may destabilise the world order.

Pundit Tucker Carlson posted a video suggesting it was to allow same sex marriage in the country.

“Are we carrying out regime change in Venezuela in the name of gay marriage? It seems that way.” Carlson asked.

“We can safely discount democracy as a reason for affecting regime change in Venezuela,” Carlson said in his analysis.

“We’re not going to go kill Nicolás Maduro because we don’t like the way he’s treating his people.” Carlson said.

““It’s possible we’re mad because he doesn’t allow gay marriage,” he continued. “That is a distinct possibility, but nobody will say that out loud.”

Carlson said the project was ‘global homo’ activity. The phrase is one linked to conspiracy theories that suggest there’s a global gay agenda to push gay rights. The term is often used by white nationalist movements.

Shortly after posting his theory Carlson deleted is video, but his suggestion doesn’t hold much weight. While the Trump administration has captured Nicolás Maduro they have indicated that they expect the country to be administered by his Vice President Delcy Rodríguez.

The country’s strongest opposition leader is the exiled María Corina Machado, who has also voiced that she does not support marriage equality, and neither has Edmundo González who ran against Maduro at the last election.

Its not the first time Carlson has voiced an LGBTIQA+ related conspiracy theory. Last year he declared that former US Secretary of Transport Pete Buttigieg was faking being gay and challenged him to prove his sexuality, Buttigieg declined the offer.
