Scandalous! It seems that with Valentine’s Day on the horizon THE thing to do is to throw caution to the wind and tell your partner that you’ve had an affair. My my! Yes, a whole swathe of relationships across our beautiful city have gone bottom up. And not in the good way. What to do? Revenge, sweeties, revenge. Go on… you know you want to. Even if that revenge means you look f’ing amazing at the next social outing – do it! A little discipline and a head held high is all you need to get back at them. Either that or hire a cheetah for that cheater. One doesn’t however recommend Chianti and Fava beans, not even to over-enthusiastic queens.

Connections open on a Thursday night? You betcha! On Thursday February 12 CNC will open its doors for a very special event. The kids over at Move are collaborating with CNC to present an evening with DJ Mark De Clive Lowe and vocalist Vanessa Freeman. It’s a night that is sure to attract an interesting mix of club kids and coolistas into the one venue. The result is bound to be sheer musical heaven. Tickets are available now from Planet, Mills and 78’s… or from the club. Doors open at 9pm.

Sandy Beaches is hosting Lesbian Mud Wrestling at Connections. Seems she’s no longer a support act, does it Miss W? No, not at all. Be there to watch the birth of an era as Sandy heralds in a golden age of wrong gone wrong.

Half naked boys parading around, snarly drag queens, a Thursday night… yes, it must be Trick. The gayest new night on the party circuit is proving to be a sheer delight as it merges the best new DJs with live singing and all sorts of excitement. Not to be missed, Trick kicks off at uber gay friendly nightclub Geisha!

To celebrate his birthday the manager of Connections Nightclub is throwing one helluva bash. Yes, Mr Gavin Kingsbury is aging (dis)gracefully the only way he knows how… and you’re all invited. So slip on those party frocks and be there Friday February 20 to wish the big G a big Happy B!

Coming up at The Court Hotel is The Beauty of Africa Extravaganza, an afternoon and evening full to the brim with fashion and culture on Sunday February 22 from 4.30pm. There will be traditional African dance and music plus a larger than life fashion parade featuring Bree Maddox. MC for the evening is the founder of the Breast Cancer Foundation and Love Angel Foundation Ros Worthington OAM. Up for auction are a book signed by Nelson Mandela and a Julie Dowling painting. The whole soiree is $50 a ticket which includes music, light refreshments and door prizes. Don’t miss this one!

Do you want to be a Drag Star? Do you want to get up on a stage and give it all you’ve got, whether you do drag, singing, magic… gosh, even spoken word? It’s an open stage folks so why not get up and give it your all! Go on, you’re a star! Best bit? No judging. No scrutiny. No great big hairy… wait, no, they’ll still be there. As will Delta Force and the ever so divine Ms Val Nourished. Plus guests. Plus you. Plus an open stage. Oh you can hear them weeping now! Last thing you need to know is that it all kicks off on Friday February 27 at Connections Nightclub, naturally. Be there… stars will be born.

Spank is on Saturday February 28 with the theme Circus Berserk. Think Marquis de Sade meets Cirque du Soleil and watch out for a zentai show (that’s full body latex outfit kiddies), stilt walkers, sexy circus feats, flaming hoola-hoops, whip cracking dungeon frolics, a fantastic themed photo booth plus shows, shows, shows. Take note, they have a strictly no outfit, no entry, no excuses policy! So go fetish, fantasy, burlesque, drag or goth as DJs Tintin, Space, Dannimac and NeedleNurse make Gilkinsons Dance Studio the place to be! Doors open at 9pm and tickets available from Mame, ZOO, Libido, Burlesque Baby, Flesh Rubber and Ron Reid Hair Stylists.

ZOO is every Sunday over at BarOpen, entry via the rear. It’s proving to have a cult following, showing that it is possible for the underdog to rise up and give it to the masses. And give it they do… with panache and a very twisted sense of style. Think live body piercing, twisted antics and dress-ups galore. Be here, be queer and get ready to mix it with all the other animals at ZOO! mOther is also of the impression that they are holding the Spank after-party on Sunday. This may just be a figment of mOther’s imagination – she doesn’t seem to have received a press release, rather read about it somewhere… although she would love it if she did receive such press releases – but hey, it’s still a good reason to go and check out ZOO.

Sunday March 1 is Summer Exposed at The Court Hotel from 6pm until 12am. Dress to get wet (yes, thongs are allowed) as they throw in sexy dancers, hot and cold spas, a fashion parade by adultshop.com, wet t-shirt competitions and foam… lots of foam. Loads of foam. Perhaps far too much foam. Tickets are available now or are on the door.

Labour Day long weekend doesn’t have to be a labour, unless it’s a labour of love. And speaking of love, DJ Jack McCord of Hed Kandi and Hunk fame will be in at Connections to rock da house, as they so eloquently put it in club land. It’s sure to be a massive night, one certainly not to be missed. Pen Sunday March 1 into your diary now and get ready to shake that booty.

Sucked in to the foul mouthed Sydney boy who decided that yes, it’s a good idea to actually get up on stage and bad mouth Perth’s gay scene. Really clever… especially when said bad mouthing takes place on stage at Lesbian Mud Wrestling. Hmmm, angry mouth, pool of mud, pissed off drag queen – you do the math! Stupid little boy found himself covered in mud thanks to LMW champ Chuck Norris, who took him down. Ah, Sydney trash… they always are so downright dirty! On a brighter note, Val and Sandy wrestled each other… and the former lady of the house was not, shall we say, Val Inquished. Sandy, darling, even if you lost you’re still my number one!

Remember, if it hurts it works,

Love, mOther
