The artist formerly known as Scary Spice admitted that she didn’t know much about Australian fashion but was looking forward to seeing two shows at Perth Fashion Festival this evening. Mel B said that when it comes to fashion she doesn’t follow trends, but makes her own – describing her current personal trend as ‘right now, its glitter’

When asked what she thought of recent comment from failed X-Factor contestant Luke O’Dell, that following her recent live performance on the show, she was not much better than him, the former Spice Girl taunted back, ‘but I’m much richer than him.’

O’Dell became a YouTube sensation when he struck out with the judges of the popular talent show singing his original song Introvert Extrovert. Mel B admitted that following the audition O’Dell’s song was stuck in her head for the rest of the day but she laughed off any possibility of collaboration between the two and described O’Dell’s appearance on the show as ‘hilarious’.

The singer wouldn’t be drawn any a potential return to making her own music repetitively saying ‘Watch this space’ but shared that she was enjoying the creative process of developing the Spice Girls musical ,which is set to open next year, with the other members of the band.

While Mel B’s stay in Perth is a whirlwind 24 hours taking in two shows at Perth Fashion Festival, she’ll be remaining in Australia for the next three months for the filming of X-Factor.
