Paul McCartney’s latest release is a collection of songs that his’ parent’s generation listened to, and a few new tunes in a similar style. Diana Krall plays piano alongside a host of acclaimed jazz musicians who take on well known standards like A-cent-tchu-ate the Positive, It’s Only a Paper Moon and The Glory of Love, and much lesser known tunes like More I Cannot Wish You, from the stage version of Guys and Dolls. Plus a rare rendition of Bye Bye Blackbird – that includes the rarely sung verses – most artists just perform the song’s chorus. Mary Kiani – this is how you do standards but keep it interesting.
