This month OUTinPerth’s local sports is on hiatus as various local sporting clubs, including Loton Park Tennis Club, G&L Badminton and WAGL Ten Pin Bowling head over to Melbourne to compete in the inaugural Asia Pacific Outgames. Next month, OiP will report back with full results, pictures and wrap-up… Until then, best of luck to all the competitors in Melbourne!

Like many sporting clubs Loton Park has been struggling with member numbers and that has impacted on the income being generated. Unfortunately, the costs to run the club don’t decrease accordingly; therefore, the Management Committee have been putting together a series of strategies which will hopefully take the club into the next decade. A Special General Meeting for the members will be held at the club grounds on the 16 February at 5pm to discuss the club’s future and options.

Loton Park Tennis Club will host Love All, on Saturday 15 March 2008 from 2pm to 10pm, to raise some much needed funds for the club. Top local DJs will provide the music. So, grab some friends and get down to the club to take advantaged of a fully stocked bar. Note: Because Love All is being conducted from 2pm, there will be no social tennis at Loton Park on Saturday 15 March. Instead, social tennis will be held Sunday 16 March.

To become a member of Loton Park Tennis Club, contact Michelle 0418 942 231 or Gary 0409 37 615 or visit www.lotonpark.com.au.
