Allison Janney and Andrew Rannells team up for ‘Miss You, Love You’

Andrew Rannells and Allison Janney will star in Miss You, Love You, a new film coming to HBO Max.

The film arrives on the streaming service on 29 May and sees Janney playing a woman who has to plan her husband’s funeral, with her son sending his assistant to help out, when she would have preferred him to make the effort instead. Rannells plays Jamie Simms, her son’s personal assistant.

The film is written and directed by Jim Rash, who previously co-wrote The Descendants, The Way Way Back, and Downhill.

Rannells is best known for his role as Elijah on Girls and his starring role in The New Normal. He has also had a significant stage career in musicals including The Book of Mormon, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Hamilton, and the drama The Boys in the Band.

Allison Janney currently stars in the drama The Diplomat, where she plays the President of the United States. She is also known for her roles in Mom, The West Wing, Lost, and many other television programs. She won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for her portrayal of LaVona Golden in the film I, Tonya.
