TWISTABBLE: BENDING YOUR BRAIN AND YOUR BRAWN
If you resolved to give something back and support your community this year, but are not sure how to go about it, then Gay and Lesbian Community Services (GLCS) have some events for you!

GLCS is a volunteer organisation which has been providing support to our community for the past 35 years with our telephone counselling line and other services. On March 14th you can come along, slurp down a cold bevy, have fun and show your support at Twistabble!!!!

So, what is ‘Twistabble’ all about?

Well… it’s a dream come true for all you kids at heart – twister contortionists and scrabble extraordinaires alike!

Speed Scrabble – like speed dating, but instead of talking to someone, you have to pit your wits against them in a vicious non-verbal battle of the vocabulary! And superior to speed dating in that half of the participants are going to get screwed over the course of the afternoon.

Twister Tournament is here, hosted by the fabulous and flexible Twister Mistress, Feminem! She will get you making moves you have only dreamt about, flex muscles you have never felt before, stretch and swerve in ways you never thought possible!

Over the course of the afternoon we will be running Twister heats – let’s say a stretch and warm up for the final Twister challenge. All of you into a bit of ‘hands-on’ fun and some hot competition, come on down!!

So if you think you can bend your mind and/or body like a pretzel, you’re in with a chance to win some great prizes!

There’s a $5 fee to participate in each event plus a raffle, with all proceeds going to GLCS. Twistable – Sunday March 14th, 2pm at the Court.

SWEET BAKE OFF IS BACK FOR 2010
On Sunday May 16th GLCS will host the 2nd SWEET Bake Off.
After the success of last year’s bake off and 35th birthday celebration we have decided to make SWEET an annual fundraiser. The theme for this year’s SWEET is Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Once again we are inviting individuals and community groups to bake off for a chance to win prizes, enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and, most importantly, eat cake!

There will be all new cake categories this year and more! You are guaranteed to have a fantastic afternoon while supporting the vital work of GLCS.

We’ll have more details for soon, so stay tuned and mark Sunday May 16th in your diary!
