Westboro Baptist Church Links ACT Marriage With NSW Fires

Shortly after the ACT government approved same sex marriage this morning, the church posted to their Twitter account the message;

“Australia in state of emergency over raging wildfires while the government requests hearing for same-sex marriage law.”

Accompanying the post was a graphic that read, “Same-Sex Marriage Dooms Nations”.

The church founded by the Pastor Fred Phelps in 1955 is well known for their opposition to homosexuality and regularly picket funerals of gay murder and bashing victims, including the funeral of Matthew Shepard.
