Model and Television Presenter Peaches Geldof has died aged just 25.
The daughter of Sir Bob Geldof and Paula Yates was found dead at her house in Kent. Police have described her death as unexplained and sudden.
Geldof was an ally of the LGBT community. Back in 2012 she wrote a column for British newspaper The Independent voicing her support for marriage equality.
“For a country and culture that declares ourselves so progressive, our governments, citizens and, of course, our churches, can be small-minded bigots at the best of times. One day we’ll look back on the gay marriage ban as we look back on historical events like apartheid. Because in the end, that’s what it is – pointless, futile segregation.”
Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof was born in 1989, she was the second child of Boomtown Rats singer Bob Geldof and TV presenter Paula Yates. Her parents had a bitter divorce when her mother left her father for INXS lead singer Michael Hutchence. In 1997 Hutchence passed away in Sydney hotel room, his death was ruled a suicide. Three years later her mother died of a accidental drug overdose.
Peaches Geldof was raised by her father alongside her sisters Fifi Trixibelle and Little Pixie, and half sister Heavenly Hirrani Tigerlily Hutchence. At 19 she married musician Max Drummey from American band Chester French, just six months later the couple split. In 2012 she married Tomas Cohen, lead singer of British band S.C.U.M. The couple had two children, Astala Dylan Willow and Phaedra Bloom Forever.
Sir Bob Geldof released a statement saying, “We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. We loved her and will cherish her forever.”
