Out designer Marc Jacobs is keeping it queer with his new Spring/Summer 2016 collection, featuring two high profile LGBT women in his new campaign.

Jacobs revealed images of ‘The Matrix’ director Lana Wachowski and ‘Roseanne’ star & comedian Sandra Bernhard on his official Instagram account, wearing items from the upcoming line.

“This season’s ad campaign represents a series of connected events,” Jacob writes, “A visual narrative.”

“The people featured in our campaign personify this collection of fashion through their individuality. Collectively, they embody and celebrate the spirit and beauty of equality.”

Jacobs explains that he approached Wachowski after watching her receive the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award in 2012. Jacobs said the transgender director’s speech was “utterly profound in its script and her articulate, brilliant and timeless delivery.”

Jacobs waxes lyrical about his admiration for his friend Sandra Bernhard, who appears in a beautifully embellished orange dress, recalling his first time seeing her in the film ‘The King Of Comedy’.

“Sandra’s comedic consciousness, integrity and genuineness is harsh, hard and authentic,” he writes.

“Our SS16 ad campaign perfectly captures her acerbic vocal styling, pure intensity and punchy rhythm.”

Marc Jacobs will reveal the full collection in February this year.
