At Tuesday night’s council meeting the City of Stirling leaders voted on a motion to allow council CEO Stuart Jardine to attend a conference in the Kansas City in the USA.

Cr Willox stood and addressed the council and said the CEO should be careful about where he went while on his trip to the USA.

“If I could advise the CEO if they do want to go somewhere for a night out to be wary of the nightclub you go to,” Cr Willox said.

The Stirling Times caught the incident and reported that the other councilors appeared visibly shocked by the comments.

Mayor  Giovanni Italiano demanded the councilor withdraw his comment. Cr Willox formally withdrew the remarks and apologised for making the comment.

Last week 49 people were killed a gunman at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando Florida, a further 53 people were injured in the attack.

Cr Willox has been a member of the city of Stirling Council since 1993, the retired pathologist has been awarded for his services to local government.

OUTinPerth approached Cr Willox for comment.
