RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars finalist Shangela Laquifa Wadley is set to join Lady Gaga on the silver screen.

Shangie and Gaga will both appear in a new version of the 1937 musical A Star Is Born, with Lady Gaga in the title role.

Speaking with Billboard, Shangela (aka DJ Pierce) said she would play a character that could be described as Gaga’s drag mother.

“I can’t give much more away than that. But it’s gonna be really fun, it’s not a giant role but it’s a good role that’s memorable,” Shangela said.

“When you look up to someone, idolize them, and their journey and experience and how they work, and then you get to work with them and see they’re everything you dreamed.”

The 2018 production will be the fourth iteration of the story to hit the screens. Gaga will be following in the footsteps of Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland and most memorably Barbra Streisand in 1976.

Gaga and Shangela will be joined by Sam Elliott, Dave Chappelle, fellow Drag Race alum Willam Belli and actor/director Bradley Cooper.
