Labor have this week revealed they will be targeting Grindr with a new advertising campaign.

The campaign will focus on Liberal candidates who have expressed homophobic opinions – including Gladys Liu and recently dumped candidate Gurpal Singh.

Liu, who is running against former Liberal Julia Banks in the seat of Chisholm, has been behind anti-LGBTI campaigns targeting Chinese-Australian voters on social media service WeChat.

Liu also told The Guardian she was against transgender people using bathroom that align with their gender, and dismissed LGBTI+ issues as “ridiculous rubbish.”

Singh was revealed to have compared same-sex marriage to pedophilia in a past social media post, and resigned yesterday after another post calling a rapist “the real victim” emerged.

Labor’s Grindr campaign will appear for Grindr users in the Victorian electorates of Chisholm and Scullin.
