The adult film star, whose been working in the industry since 2003, said he’d struggled with drug addiction for a long time but had been free of drugs for several years.

“Let me come clean about something that I’ve been fighting and hiding for years. I’m an addict. I have used hard drugs on and off for years. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through in my life.” Everett wrote.

The performer said he wanted to apologise to those closest to him who had tried to help him when he was at his worst.

“I put my family through hell and hurt everyone close to me. All they did was try to help me and I pushed them away. All I can do is apologize to them for any pain I caused. The person I become when on drugs is not human. It’s someone else. It scared me and I know it scared the ones I loved.”

Everett also said his fans had probably noticed that he’s a lot more religious nowadays and said he’d talk more about how religion had played a part in his recovery at a later time.

So far Everett has appeared in over 40 pornographic films. He married fellow adult movie star Steve Pena in 2008.
