James Rehnburg or ‘Grandpa Jim’, as Grant Rehnburg knew him, was a Baptist pastor and World War II veteran who came out to his grandson at age 90, five months before his death.

Now Grant is seeking to commemorate his grandfather’s life and draw connections between their very different experiences as gay men in an art installation entitled ‘The Family Connection’.

He is raising money for the project on an Indiegogo campaign, and has raised $2205. His target for the campaign was $950.

Rehnburg’s Indiegogo campaign for ‘The Family Connection’ is here.
