Coalition for marriage launches new ad

The Coalition for Marriage has launched a new advertisement in its fight to stop same sex couple being allowed to get married.

Like their previous campaign, it makes no mention of same-sex marriage but instead argues that if gay couples can get married there will be unintended consequences for society.

The new ad takes aim at a children’s book written by Australian author Jo Hirst, saying school programs will teach “radical gender ideas” in the future.

The advertisement features two of the Mum’s who appeared in the previous advertisement from the No Campaign.

“How am I supposed to protect my kids in the future from this stuff?” asks Melbourne mother Cella White who has campaigned against the Safe Schools program.

Jo Hirst, the author of the children’s book ‘The Gender Fairy’, is mother to a transgender child and was inspired to write the well known book to help other families. While the book is not part of the curriculum of the Safe Schools program, the Australian Christian Lobby has regularly claimed that it is.
