Now having impressed them with his feats of magic, he’s back in town again with a whole new bundle of tricks. OUTinPerth had a quick chat with Dom ahead of his Fringe World show.

When did you first get into magic?

I was 5 or 6 when I first picked up a magic trick! I was taught magic by my Grandad, who himself, was a magician.

Who did you find inspiration from?

Granddad was definitely my biggest inspiration, growing up.

You performed in front of Penn and Teller – how was that for your nerves?

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t shitting myself.

Are there new magic tricks or just new ways of doing older tricks?

I strive to do both. Every trick you’ll see in RanDom is new, but, the foundations and methods behind many these tricks have been drawn from existing magic principles.

What the secret to a good magic trick?

Magnets.

Take a look at Dom’s appearance in from of Penn and Teller below and book tickets to see him at in RanDom at Fringe World until 9th February.
