The former Spice Girl and her racing car driver husband Christian Horner welcomed their child into the world on the 21st January. The couple have announced their son will be named Montague George Hector Horner.

Geri was a close friend of George Michael. Michael’s former partner Kenny Goss is godfather to her 10 year-old daughter Bluebell, from a previous relationship.

Previously Horner has spoken about the support she received from Michael when she made the decision to quit the Spice Girls. The two remained close friends for many years.

Mystery still surrounds the Christmas Day death of George Michael. His publicist announced his death was due to suspected heart failure but an autopsy was inconclusive. The coroner is now awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
