Glowing Summer Tan

SummagloI think its fair to say that everyone loves a summer glow but nowadays most of us are hesitant to expose ourselves to the threat of wrinkles and sun damage. Let’s face it, these ailments are not the types of souvenirs you wish to remember your summer by.

On the flip side, most of us have done tanning creams to death (gulp!), had one or twenty experiences with a tanning bed that we wish were forgettable, ended up looking like an oompa-loompa and smelling like a paint factory at one stage in our life. Sound familiar? YES!

When I was told that my second assignment would be spray tans, two things popped into mind. First, my oompa-loompa experience, and secondly, my near death experience after 3 hours of topless sun baking and then one overnight stay at RPH with a flurry of first year doctors examining my boobs! After some intensive research (one cocktail party and some fine champers…. gawd I love this job!) I’m pleased to report that here in Perth I have found the perfect glow all year round.

I was lucky enough to attend a fabulous little soiree to celebrate the opening of Summaglo, a tanning salon and makeup bar with a total difference! No crayfish here peeps….. just a whole room of hipsters, bubbles and yummy tummy canapés. Needless to say that a great evening was had by all and I was left impressed, in high spirits and feeling a tad pasty!!

Summaglo not only provides all things decadent (ie all things me) but is also a proud sponsor of the Breast Cancer Foundation of West Australia (*gush* and *sigh*). With 3 spray tan rooms all individually named after 3 breast cancer survivors this salon exudes a sincerity and genuine love for life that gave me goose bumps all over.

Apart from my sensitive side being tickled pink, the salon provides a perfect little haven to treat yourself to some overdue pampering. I can confidently say that spray tans have hit a new level and that with Summaglo’s fabulous state of the art equipment and product, long gone are the days when your first glance in the mirror will resemble what one can only describe as a pumpkin on stilts! Summaglo offers an affordable menu with spray tans starting at $45.00 and full body exfoliation/spray tan combination at $80.00 (ingenious!). Other fabulous services include a wonderful make up bar that will definitely leave you GORGEOUS and ready to take on any social occasion.

I loved this salon and I loved the attention to detail. Full respect to the delightful Michael Somic and Narelle Moyle in their new business venture. Next time you feel like a bit of lovin and a boost in naked confidence enter their building and exit feeling fancy free. I’m confident that you won’t be disappointed and most of all, you won’t leave a walking talking oompa-loompa! XM
