Artist Daley King works under the moniker Queer & Loathing.  The eclectic, genderqueer theatre-maker and writer makes work that is unpredictable, uncomfortable art in a celebration of chaos.

To create a new work Queer & Loathing are asking people to share their stories. The new work will be called Lipstuck.

Lipstuck will vibrantly deconstruct the societal and cultural history of lipstick, and its use as both a tool of body politics and a weapon of oppression.

The work will be a queer kaleidoscope of experimental performance art and verbatim storytelling, exploring the history and culture of lipstick, whilst juxtaposing it with a zeitgeist of modern lived experiences.

Daley is asking people to share their stories that involve lipstick, it’s easy to do – just click on this link.

A short segment of this new work will be presented at Kiss Club at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) on Friday 13th September. Kiss Club is a space for works in progress to be trialed in front of an audience.

Declaration: OUTinPerth Managing Editor Graeme Watson also works at pvi collective, the arts group that organises Kiss Club.
