Madonna might not make it to the Eurovision Final after all

Madonna might not make it to perform at the Eurovision final. While the singer’s publicists have spoken about her appearing at the Song Competition, Eurovision bosses have yet to confirm her appearance.

With just a few days to go before the competition’s grand final Madonna has yet to sign a contract for the event.

Jon Ola Sand, the producer of the show said Madonna had never been officially confirmed, and unless she signed on the dotted line, she wouldn’t be appearing.

“The European Broadcasting Union has never confirmed Madonna as an act.” Sand told journalists on Monday, he continued. “If we do not have a signed contract she cannot perform on our stage.”

The contest takes place in Tel Aviv in Israel on 18 May. Eurovision has always had strict rules about no political statements being made at the event, and there are rumours that Madonna doesn’t want to commit to their strict guidelines.

Madonna was expected to perform one new song from her upcoming Madame X album alongside one of her classic songs, tipped to be her 1989 hit Like a Prayer, during the show’s interval.
