Perth celebrated pride with a massive street parade which attracted large crowds. Following the theme of ‘Together’ over a hundred floats and marching groups celebrated Western Australia’s LGBTIQ+ communities.

It was the largest number of parade entrants that the event has seen in it’s three decade history with a collections of sporting groups, community groups, political parties, support organisations and corporate businesses showing their support.

The parade was followed by an official party in Yagan Square, where the awards were announced for the parade.

Hosts Famous Sharron and Paul van Lieshout were joined by Pride President Jeremy Wray for the announcement of the awards.

Among the awards was The Most Outrageously Dressed which was awarded to the Gaymers Float, Best Walking Group was given to the Town of Victoria Park, The Best Individual was Sharkie from the White Pointers. The Best Float overall was awarded to Synergy.

The awards were judged by Judge Chris Kendall, Justice Jeremy Cuthoys, the Shadow Attorney General Michael Mischin, Lorraine Reason and Jeremy Wray.
