Poet Steven Boyle captures the feeling of unrequited love perfectly in his spoken work poem ‘I Hit Send or Modern Meltdown’.

The poem is a carefully constructed look at modern gay romance, having to wonder not only whether or not your crush likes you but whether they’re same sex attracted at all, facing homophobia and crippling indecision over whether or not to hit ‘send’.

Boyle also cleverly uses call and response with the audience to keep them engaged and subvert expectations.
