Revelation Film Festival seek filmmakers for music video project

The Revelation Perth International Film Festival announced their Blind Date Music Video Competition earlier this month, seeking filmmakers to team up with musicians to make music video magic.

Revelation has compiled a list of eligible songs and filmmakers are encouraged to choose one (or more!) to create a music video with the aim of winning our inaugural competition. Shortlisted videos will be presented at a special event during Revelation’s July festival with judging from a panel of music and film professionals.

Musicians are encouraged to submit their songs to our growing list and filmmakers are invited to select their project.

Revelation Festival Director Richard Sowada said it was another fantastic creative initiative.

“Last year Rev introduced its Revelation Music Days with gigs across Perth and Fremantle,” Richard said. “This year we’re getting the best of both worlds, bringing musicians and filmmakers together.”

“For bands they get an instant clip, for filmmakers at any level, it can be a major break – either way, it’s going make for some fantastic viewing during Rev!”

The project is being coordinated by Perth artist Jen Jamieson.

“I love music videos and thought it would be a really fun creative collaboration and a great screening night,” Jen said. “If things align, a band gets a music video and a filmmaker gets exposure!”

Further information can be found at the Revelation website. The deadline for completed video submissions is 1 June 2019.

Revelation Perth International Film Festival will present its 22nd annual festival from 4-17 July with the program being announced in late May.
