Martin told the Perth audience that he was getting a ‘unique vibe’ from them after he spectacularly ascended through the stage floor on top of a vintage Ford Mustang.

Opening the show with his latest single ‘Mr. Put It Down’ Martin quickly got the party started before moving on to his well known hits like ‘She Bangs’, ‘Shake Your Bon-Bon’ and ‘Livin La Vida Loca’.

The show wasn’t short on costume changes, slick dance moves and dynamic lighting.

Jackson Thomas from The Voice 2014 joined Martin on stage for a couple of songs, to promote his new single, and was greeted warmly by the audience, as was Delta Goodrem who also sang a few songs with Martin. The judges from ‘The Voice’ sang ‘Private Emotion’ – a song which Ricky performs with Meja on his 1999 album and ‘Nobody Wants to Be Lonely’ which he recorded with Christina Aguilera.

There was a brief serious moment when Martin brought the issues of slavery and poverty to the forefront with images from impoverished communities around the world gracing the screens, and the audience was appropriately pensive.

Overall, a wonderful concert with the horn section driving ‘The Cup of Life’ home, giving the show a huge conclusion, while audience members danced through the encore.
