Coinciding with the Hopman Cup Tennis festival, this event will run over the weekend of the 5th – 7th January 2018. Last years event was a huge success with 72 competitors including representatives from 10 countries.

GLTA has just announced that the 2017 event has won the title of the Best Tournament, recognising excellence across a number of areas including player satisfaction and performance.

The 2018 tournament has been awarded ‘Masters’ status, which means double competition points for the payers. The GLTA sanction over 90 tournaments throughout the world, so for Loton’s Parks event to achieve ‘Masters’ status after their first tournament is a huge achievement.

Co-tournament Directors, Doug Kirkwood and Tony Boutoubia, commended the local players who performed incredibly well in 2017 with the A Grade singles title being won by Loton’s Club Captain, David Tan and the Open Doubles title won by Geoff Younger and Mike Ashworth.

This year, the club are keen to have even more local players compete and invite all LGBTIQ tennis players, regardless of what club you play at, to come down and enjoy the atmosphere of a truly international tournament and the wonderful surroundings of Loton Park.

The club popular White Party will also return on January 6th with DJ Rob dB and special guests.

Registrations are now open at www.glta.net and you can keep up to date with all the events at Loton Park at lotonpark.com.au
