Star Trek: Starfleet Academy has been axed by Paramount, but fans will get more of the series that recently finished it’s first season because Season 2 has already been filmed.
The series followed a bunch of new recruits into Star Fleet in the 32nd century, and it was praised for its inclusion of a diverse range of characters including the first gay Klingon.
The show sadly faced a backlash from some fans who bemoaned its themes and characters and complained it was “too woke”.
After a senior Trump official Steph Miller complained about the show it was ‘review bombed’ on sites including Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB, with thousands of people logging on to trash the series.

The adventure’s not over yet though, because Paramount had so much belief that the show would be a success they had already ordered and filmed a second series.
The show features acclaimed actor Holly Hunter as Captain Nahla Ake, while comedian Gina Yashere played first officer Lura Thok.
Several familiar faces from previous Star Trek series appeared including Robert Picardo as The Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Discovery actors Tig Notaro and and Mary Wiseman were also featured, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor Cirroc Lofton also made a cameo.
The cast of new recruits featured a raft of fresh talent with actor Karim Diané being praised for his role as gay Klingon Jay-Den Kraag, and Sandro Rosta for his role as troublemaker recruit Caleb Mir.
