Zoe Carter rejoined OUTinPerth in 2012 after a hiatus of 2 years, during which she worked for a range of organisations including WAAC and GLCS. Formerly the editor of OUTinPerth, this time she returned to the team as a journalist, which gives her ample excuse to spend her days chatting to people and her nights cursing the necessity of typing out what they said – with two fingers.
GLBTIQ issues, Perth’s creative community and health float Zoe’s journalistic boat, though it has to be said that she maintains an (at best) tenuous grip on what’s happening in the land of popular music.
Zoe studied Media and Asian Studies at Murdoch University, followed it up with a short study of teaching then went off on an Advanced Diploma in Environmental Art and Design. Sensing an unwelcome end to study she gave in to a compulsion to commit tertiary education and immediately enrolled in Fine Arts at Curtin University. One unit from graduation for several years now, Zoe is able to maintain a sense of security knowing that in some sense she is STILL a student. However, she promises to complete the course provided a new course is developed that would allow her to officially sign her name with the academic titles Zoe Carter, B.A, B.A,BLACK SHEEP. Somewhat of a nanna, Zoe thinks gardening, crochet and tea are mint.
