Cruz-Martin and Monks have been making films together for six years, their short films having been selected for more than thirty-five festivals worldwide, including the prestigious Palm Springs International Shortfest.

“Pulse” is set to shoot in Perth in May & June of this year. It is about a gay disabled boy who changes into the body of a beautiful woman. The film intends to raise a number of questions about how we relate to our bodies and how we change ourselves for love. They hope it was be relatable for anyone who has ever struggled with their sexuality, body, appearance or desires.

Monks and Cruz-Martin reached their crowdfunding goal within 40 hours of its launch on Pozible, suggesting a flood of support for the 36 day campaign. Having gotten the funds necessary to get the film off the ground, they are now hoping to achieve the stretch goal of $30 000 so that they can pay their cast and crew.

“These talented people will be working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week for 4 weeks, so with this amazing support, we’re determined to pay them.” they said.
