A fundraising organisation has found a Christmas-appropriate way to respond to anti-gay comments from pastor Steve Anderson.

Anderson gave an hour long sermon which was broadcast on YouTube the day before World AIDS Day and immediately attracted controversy.

The pastor claimed that the world could achieve an “AIDS-free Christmas” by killing all gay people.

3. Clarke Nominated for Young People’s Human Rights Medal

youth-awards-2014-0611Western Australia’s Young Person of the Year, James Clarke, has been nominated for the 2014 Young Peoples’ Human Rights Medal in recognition of his work advocating for the rights of LGBTI young people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

Clarke runs a campaign called ‘Unity in the Community’ which aims to fight bullying. He is vice captain of Lockridge senior high school and publicly speaks about issues regarding race, sexuality and discrimination. Read More.
