Jackie, who has been with the group since 1996, says this show is something to be proud of.

“There’s a jazz trio, swing dancers, a DJ for in-between sets – it’s going to be really great!”

Julia, who joined the group more recently, says the group has grown tremendously in her short time with GALSWA – praising the member’s welcoming attitude and diverse membership for its success.

Swing Out Loud will feature the GALSWA choir will be doing about ten numbers and smaller groups doing duets and individual numbers.

“There’s mostly group numbers but there’s a lot of solo and small group numbers like duets and trios for a bit of variety as well – it’s not all choir.”

GALSWA’s PrideWA show may be called ‘Swing Out Loud’, but the gang always have a selection of proud anthems up their collective sleeve.

“On top of the swing this year, we have a lot of anthems,” Julia continues, “So we’ve got things like ‘Brave’, which we tie to marriage equality – ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ which we recently performed at the AIDS Council, and of course ‘True Colours’.”

GALSWA’s ‘Swing Out Loud’ will be at the WA Italian Club, Saturday 14th November from 7:30pm.

UPDATE: 14-11-2015 The GALSWA show has completely sold out!
