Julie’s Greenroom aims to teach children about the performing arts with Andrews, Hollywood stars and a cast of The Jim Henson Company’s puppet kids.

Riley, the auburn-haired gender neutral member of the puppet cast, is described as enjoying the “technical backstage stuff” in Andrews’ theatre class. Riley is the first openly non-binary character in a pre-school series.

Co-creator and daughter to Andrews, Emma Walton Hamilton, said they wanted to show “to be as diverse as possible.”

Guest starts will include out performers Tituss Burgess, Chris Colfer and David Hyde Pierce, along with Alec Baldwin, Idina Menzel and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Ellie Kemper.

Julie’s Greenroom Season 1 is available on Netflix now.
