Harry Styles says equality is a fundamental right not a political stance

Singer Harry Styles are spoken about his belief that equal rights for gay people and women are a essential. The One Direction singer said calling for such rights was not a political action because equality is a fundamental right.

Styles was appearing on the French television program Quotidien when the interviewer asked him his thoughts on Britain’s decision to leave the European Union.



Styles said he didn’t like to comment on political matters. The interviewer highlighted that the singer had previously spoken out about political issues like equality, Styles argued that asking for equality is much more than a political stance.

“That doesn’t feel like politics to me,” Styles said. “Stuff like equality feels much more fundamental.

“I feel like everyone is equal. That doesn’t feel like politics to me.”

Styles has just released Sign of the Times, the debut single from his first solo album. He’s also making his acting debut appearing in Christopher Nolan’s film Dunkirk.
