Review | Spend Another Night at the Musicals this weekend

Another Night at the Musicals | Teatro | til 10th Feb | ★ ★ ★ ★

UK’s cabaret favourites Jonny Woo and Le Gateau Chocolat return to Perth for another twisted trip through the annals of musical theatre.

Woo and Chocolat tackle everything from The Sound of Music to Disney, setting out to – in their own words – Les Misermassacre all of your favourite show tunes. And what a beautiful massacre it is!

Now you don’t need to be a super-fan of musical theatre to enjoy the antics these two brings to the stage. These glamorous, glittering disco balls of energy make sure everyone is in on the fun – delivering a full audience rendition of Greased Lightning for an unsuspecting “birthday girl”, and even convincing a youngster to help with Gateau’s incredibly hi-tech wind machine.

It’s not just mischief the pair bring to the stage though! Both Woo and Chocolat have an incredible set of pipes, transforming the Teatro into Broadway with each rendition – however twisted their version of each tune may be.

The dynamic duo of Fringe World are quintessential cabaret. Costume changes, bonkers banter, silly stunts – and oodles of talent – storm the stage in an hour of frolicking fun. The idea of missing this show should be something you just… can’t face.

Catch Another Night at the Musicals in the Pleasure Gardens until Sunday 10th February. Tickets and more information available from fringeworld.com.au
