DECOLONISE Pride with Boorloo Justice & friends at Barbes

First Nations and POC led grassroots advocacy group Boorloo Justice are celebrating PrideFEST on Whadjuk Noongar boodja with their inaugural DECOLONISE event.

DECOLONISE brings an all queer, all POC lineup of performers to Barbes, paying tribute to the Bla(c)k and POC leaders who forged the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement.

In the theme of liberation, community and unity, the Boorloo Justice mob invite revelers to step up in their best ‘decolonial baddie’ attire, with an event by community, for community.

DECOLONISE boasts a lineup of killer local performers and rising stars, with DJs, musicians and drag performers taking to the stage, and all excess profits from the evening will be donated to First Nations led LGBTQIA+ advocacy group Black Rainbow.

Yikes, Jamilla, PP Sugar G, Nafta, and Boycvnt are on the decks; The Samba Kweens, Ane$u, Joel Davis, Ken, Deniel Samiento and Mr Widdy bring the live acts, and Davina Saintly, Danisa Snake, Milo, Maven, Heather Hangi Pants and Moesha Knowles bring the drag.

You can get even more info on what to expect from tonight’s event by restreaming Leigh’s chat with organisers Lulkbudia Nungalla and Ane$u on RTRFM’s All Things Queer.

Presales have all been snapped up, but door sales are still available (cash only). Get down to Barbes for a 9pm start, Friday 27th November, and head to Facebook for more info.
