Georgi Kay Tops The Charts

Perth artist Georgi Kay has shot to the top of the Beatport dance music charts with In My Mind, her new collaboration with house music producers Feenixpawl and Ivan Gough. The track has been remixed by Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell.  Beatport is a digital music service that is popular with DJs, dance music tracks are often released here before they are available on more mainstream services like iTunes.

The Melbourne based dance music producers approached Kay to record the vocals for their tune after hearing Free her collaboration with Perth hip hop outfit The Stoops, which was used in promotions for the Foxtel channel 111 Hits.

Kay’s previous indie hit Breakfast in Bedlam, which won the WAM Song of the Year in 2010, has also been given a new lease of life. Electronic musician Diger Rokwell has remixed the tune giving it renewed airplay on independent radio stations.

Kay is currently in New Zealand filming her first acting role in the mini-series Top the Lake.
