An Arab lesbian group held an invitation-only conference in late March in Haifa, a city in northern Israel, despite Islamist protesters. The conference ‘Home and Exile in Queer Experience’ aimed to create a space for more Arab lesbians to come out of the closet and media coverage was severely restricted.
