Louise Pratt Doesn't Rule Out a Political Return

LouisePrattCover-001Outgoing Labor Senator Louise Pratt has not ruled out a return to politics saying the door is always open.

The Senator lost her seat following a disastrous campaign in the Senate re-run election. A factional deal saw Unionist Joe Bullock placed at the top of the party’s ticket ahead of the incumbent Senator.

Furthermore her running mate caused a last minute embarrassment when audio emerged of him describing the party’s members as mad. Mr Bullock was also captured questioning Ms Pratt’s sexuality.

“I’ve certainly kept that option open.” Senator Pratt told RTRFM’s Morning Magazine program on Thursday.

“I’ve really enjoyed making a contribution to public life and I would love the opportunity to continue to do that.”

The Senator said she remained committed to the Labor Party.

“The Labor party is a party of progressive government when it’s at it’s best. No other party can compete with that. The Liberal party is too right wing, The Greens don’t have the capacity… to take the whole community with them necessarily, nor are they a party of government.”

The Senator repeated her calls for the WA Labor party to change it’s methodology of selecting candidates so that the rank and file party members were more involved.
