Opera in the Park celebrates 50 years of the Western Australian Opera

The Western Australian Opera are celebrating their 50th anniversary with a gala concert in the Supreme Court Gardens.

The annual Opera in the Park event will showcase the incredible talents of the WA Opera, featuring highlights from some of the world’s greatest operas including The Toreador’s Song from Bizet’s Carmen, Mozart’s Anvil Chorus from Il Trovatore and the ever-powerful Nessun Dorma.

Australian artists will join the WA Opera Chorus and the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Brad Cohen.

The free event will be simulcast to regional communities across the state for all to enjoy. Attendees are encouraged to dress up to celebrate this milestone. You are encouraged to wear evening dress, black tie, a costume or your favourite outfit.

Residents of Broome, Albany, Bunbury, Busselton, Carnarvon, Geraldton, Margaret River, Esperance, Kalgoorlie and Merredin will be able to take in all of the beauty of Opera in the Park in their own neighbourhood.

The broadcast will also be available in the Northbridge Piazza, on the corner of James and Lake Streets.
