Paul Kelly – Stolen Apples (EMI)

Paul Kelly’s new album ‘Stolen Apples’ will sound even better live than it does on CD. Paul’s vocals and song writing blend perfectly with the simple guitar riffs and background harmonies. The first track betrays the up-tempo nature of the rest of the album, but it’s a beautiful start nevertheless. Save this record for trips to the beach and barbies out back on balmy summer days, because it goes best with a beer and a lazy afternoon. Special mentions to tracks ‘Feeling of Grief’, ‘You’re 39, You’re Beautiful and You’re Mine’ and ‘The Ballad of Queenie and Rover’. –Brett Dias
