Glammy Award Winners Announced

Glammy Award winner Paul van Leishout Hunt at last night's ceremony

The 2012 Pride WA Glammy Awards were announced last night at a Gala Ball at the All Seasons Hotel in Northbrige.

Pride WA Male Co-President Paul van Leishout Hunt was among the community members recognised for their contribution over the last year at the Glammy Awards.

Alongside volunteering at Pride WA, van Leishout Hunt also coordinates the RTRFM gay and lesbian focussed program All Things Queer. Last night van Leishout Hunt was given The Glammy for most Outstanding Contribution by an Individual or Couple and was also named the recipient of the Freedom Centre Youth Award. The youth award was given in memory of Freedom Centre volunteer Isabelle Lake who passed away earlier this year.

RTRFM’s radio program All Things Queer was named Best Community Group, while one of the show’s presenters Tim Bee, who DJs at both Connections and The Court Hotel was named Best Entertainer. Newcomer The Honey Lounge was named the best venue and Melane White from the WA Police was given the award for Building Bridges Between and Within Communites.
