Charlie Pickering Delivers a Comical Take on the Marriage Debate

Pickering-001Comedian Charlie Pickering has delivered a comical take on Australia’s debate over marriage equality.

Discussing the issue on his program ‘The Weekly’ on ABCTV, Pickering set his sights on Prime Minister Tony Abbott, union leader Joe de Bruyn and the opponents of same sex marriage.

Pickering highlighted that one of the major opponents to marriage equality in Australia is Joe de Bruyn, head of the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association.

Noting that the union represented retails workers, one of the biggest empoyment areas of gay men and women. Pickering quipped ‘Austalia’s gay unions are being held back by Australia’s gayest union.”
