On Wednesday, September 5 stories read live on stage by professional actors include a classic tale by Elizabeth Jolley, an extract from Tim Winton’s latest novel, The Shepherd’s Hut, and a new award-winning story by Mosman Park writer Brenda Walker.

Walker has won an O. Henry Prize (alongside Anne Enright) for her story, The Houses That Are Left Behind, and will be published in the O. Henry Prize Collection being released by Random House USA next month.

The story fits perfectly into Lit Live’s September’s theme, Home – stories of the heart, of memories and bricks and mortar.

September readers include Sarah McNeill, Barbara Calligan, Benj D’Addario and Greg McNeill.

Along with a collection of great stories will be acoustic guitarist and singer Greg McNeill playing live, and ticket giveaways for the new film, The Book Club, starring screen golden girls, Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen.

The monthly readings of short fiction read live on stage by professional actors have proved popular, drawing a regular audience of lit fans.

Lit Live is produced, presented and hosted by actor and arts writer Sarah McNeill.
