Tina Arena Releases New Remixes

Tina Reset All Large-002Tina Arena has released the second single from her amazing ‘Reset’ album. The remixes for ‘Reset All’ take the album track straight to the middle of the dance floor.

The track has been remixed by 7th Heaven, Max Sanna and Steve Pitron and the Country Club Martini Crew. Each provide a tight radio edit and an extended version of their take on the track.

The 7th Heaven version encapsulates the sound of summer, giving the track a Caribbean party vibe with steel drum sounds, the Club Martini Crew’s take is a classic party sound, our favourite though is the Max Sanna and Steve Pitron mixes which sound like they should be played in a club at 2am.

When OUTinPerth caught up with Tina on her recent trip to Perth we spoke about songwriting and remixing tracks. We shared how much we loved the remixes of the album’s lead single.

“You know the songs which work and the ones that don’t,” said Arena, “Not all of them work. I knew with ‘You Set Fire to the Rain’ that because it’s a well constructed piece without the groove, it’s melodic and it’s tells a story. If you’ve got the base of a song right, then it can work in many many realms.”

‘If you write just a dance piece, and then you can’t do it acoustically, you can’t strip it down, then it doesn’t work for me.”

Arena said she was a traditionalist when it came to songwriting.

For ‘Reset All’ Arena worked with songwriters Hunter Nixon and Lindsay Rimes and producer Danton Supple. Arena said the song is about putting things in life, back in balance.

“There are times in different people’s lives where the pendulum needs to be re-balanced, where things do need to be reset,” says Arena, “I absolutely believe in the spiritually of such a concept. Call it reinvention, call it renaissance, call it a mid-life crisis, call it whatever you want; however I believe resetting things is very important.”

‘Reset All – The Remixes’ is available now on iTunes.
