U=U: Bruce Richman and Nic Holas to hold HIV forum at Loton Park

Two community leaders in HIV education and advocacy will be appearing at Loton Park Tennis Club this March for a conversation on U=U (Undetectable equals Untransmissible).

The forum is an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about U=U, the fact that people living with HIV on treatment with an undetectable viral load cannot sexually transmit HIV.

Bruce Richman is the founding executive director of Prevention Access Campaign and U=U, a growing global community of HIV advocates, activists, researchers, and over 550 community partners from 70 countries uniting to share the U=U message.

Richman was diagnosed with HIV in 2003, and learned in 2012 that his undetectable viral load meant that he could not pass on HIV. He recognised that millions of people living with HIV, especially from marginalised groups, were not being told that U=U and committed to sharing this life-changing information.

Australia’s Nic Holas is an activist, writer, and co-founder of The Institute of Many (TIM), an advocacy platform and grassroots movement for People Living with HIV.

TIM has the largest membership of any HIV organisation in Australia and has been identified as a major player in the nation’s modern-day HIV response, delivering activism, digital campaigns, resources and events since 2012.

The event is open to all people who would like to engage in the U=U conversation, and supported by TIM, WA AIDS Council, POWA, Dynamix International and ICASO.

Join the conversation at Loton Park on Thursday March 8th at 6:30pm. To RSVP, email Alli at apaterson@waaids.com or call Lisa on 0403 162 844.
