HAPAN No Longer Functioning

Western Australia’s HIV/AIDS Peer Advisory Network (HAPAN) has ceased to be a functioning group. Robert Mitchell the President of the National Association of People Living With HIV/AIDS (NAPWA) confirmed the groups demise to OUTinPerth, noting that no representatives attended the NAPWA general meeting in May.

The group’s end leaves a void in Western Australia which now has no NAPWA recognised body to represent the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS. Mr. Mitchell explained that NAPWA hoped to organise a forum in Western Australia within the next few months to address the situation.

HAPAN and the WA AIDS Council were contacted for comment but did not respond before OUTinPerth went to print.
