Briefs: Blowing You Right Out of the Speigeltent

BreifsNever would I have thought that three lesbians could go watch a show filled with mangina, octopus-willy, hula hoops-caught-in-tensed-male-buttocks and thoroughly enjoy it. I was wrong.

BRIEFS has burst onto the Speigeltent stage of Fringeworld this year and their chaotic hour-long blend of drag, boylesque, comedy and circus is something that absolutely can’t be missed. You’ll walk away from Fringeworld still gathering yourself days later.

I must admit that being sent to review BRIEFS was met with some disdain. Why would this lesbian want to watch men undressing? My ignorance to what the show entailed resulted in me being blown out the water. What’s worth noting is the circus performances are of ridiculously high quality, packed into the hour is plate spinning, terrifying hula hoops, aerial gymnastics and one highly seductive lap dance with a tray of meat.

What’s also worth noting is that you should avoid sitting at the front unless you want to cop a hula hoop to the head or the wrong end of a poorly aimed thrust.

I could go on forever about the different tiers of excellence that this show offers but you’ll never understand until you witness it for yourself. BRIEFS is a show that can’t be missed this year.

BRIEFS is on at The Spiegeltent at Fringeworld until February 11.
