Set in post apocalyptic Perth, hidden in the Perth underground train station, based on the premise that the ozone layer has torn open and no one can go outside without roasting to death, you are introduced to our four anti heroes.

There also may or not be a ghost of Cher who acts as a drag equivalent of Mufasa.

This is a show best enjoyed with a few drinks in you. It is a riot.

It started with all the performers on stage, then it kicked off with a strong ‘we respect the traditional owners’ intro with their own twist. It definitely got the crowd going.

The format of the show was repetitive with no surprises. It felt under rehearsed with minor onstage mishaps. The song choices felt personal and not always for the audience.

The were some exceptional moments where the performers took the audience on a ride but they were few and far between. I admit I was very excited by the rapping drag queen.

Of the six performers two stood out, but even then it wasn’t consistent. For the most part it was neither confronting or entertaining, so I left wondering how why they hadn’t killed each other yet and why didn’t the robot do the robot dance? It would have been nice to have some consistency or a theme to the songs.

I would have liked to see more group numbers, they were well placed at the end and a fantastic way to show off the performers and they were very joyous. One particular performer sounded like they were losing their voice.

It was a so-so message poorly told. The message of the show was confusing and it seemed to be asking minorities to practice what they preach.

Catch this show at Fringe World until 25 January.
